Classroom as Art
My classroom, its culture and its physical spaces, follow the trajectory of my personal workspaces. Color and art, line the walls of my classroom in a somewhat disorganized fashion. Are there any benefits?
My classroom, especially this year, has become the type of environment I truly want to be in -- a safe place. A place of positivity, work, color, and, more than anything, a focus on pride in work and the idea that we create our own beautiful objects. I as a teacher take pride in my classroom and transform it into an environment I believe is beautiful. I want my students to feel the same way about any work they produce: I want them to take control, show understanding of the skills and content at hand, and do it in such a way that they have a product they're proud of.
